Renewing the “Business Manager” status of residence in Japan

To support such entrepreneurs, the Japanese government has clarified that when evaluating the continuity of business operations, a more flexible approach may be taken if a qualified third-party professional—such as a Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant or Certified Public Accountant—who holds a public certification recognized as having the capacity to assess a company’s business performance, provides a written opinion. This document must include a reasoned basis for the expectation that the business will improve, including the prospect of resolving insolvency within one year.
